May is National Military Appreciation Month. Vlier joins all Americans in honoring current and former service members in six national observances throughout the month, which highlight contributions of men and women who have served, concluding with Memorial Day on May 28.

Loyalty Day: May 1

Reaffirms loyalty to the United States and recognizes the heritage of American freedom.

Public Service Recognition Week: May 6–12

Honors men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees.

Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day or VE Day): May 8

Marks the end of World War II in Europe on May 8, 1945.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day: May 11

Honors the contributions and sacrifices made by military spouses.

Armed Forces Day: May 19

Honors men and women serving in the five U.S. Armed Forces branches: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy.

Memorial Day: May 28

A remembrance of veterans that commemorates all men and women who died while in military service.
